stumbled upon this article on thisiskul and i love it. i love it so much.

look at her art, it speaks so much truth, it shows so much courage. even her words - they are so definite. every single piece bears so much meaning, makes my blood boil. so much so that i feel the need to come on my blog just to write about it.

but alas, i'm not good at words, i do not have the ability to convey exactly how i feel right now. and that's a shame.

reading this article also got me to think that the world really has not changed one bit after all these fucking years. okay, yes, many things have happened. people have... -sortof- improved. but still, the general idea of this world is still the same. opposites will always exist. when you have dictators, you'll have rebels; when you have rich people, you'll have the poor.

people that make art like hers exist because countries so corrupt and immature like malaysia exists. can you feel the tension????? i mean, look at that altantuya piece????????? LIKE HOLY COW. I DON'T KNOW. THE FEELZ????!?!?!?! I WISH I WERE IN MALAYSIA NOW SO I CAN GO TO HER EXHIBITIONS!!!!

but on a serious note, i just hope people in malaysia will one day, learn to LEARN. sometimes they really need to shut up and listen and THINK before slamming down an ideology or labelling it as 'a product of westernisation' or 'liberalism'. trust me, it's more than that. it really is. i just hope they can be more empathic and just slow down your thoughts a little.

when issues like racism/feminism/justice/equity become a 'taboo', you know this country has a serious problem.
