Conch Piercing 2016

Finally got a conch piercing after months and months of talking about it and yes, I finally went to Kaleidescope Tattoo in Bondi to get it done yesterday.

After the shit ton of research I did, I was seriously thinking of not piercing my conch at all and just get a basic helix done instead because paranoid me was very afraid of the pain that everyone was talking about and also was scared that I would contract an infection and die (lol jokes, i know i won't probably die but still). So I walked into the tattoo parlour thinking of getting my helix done and was JUST SO CLOSE in not getting my conch piercing, but suddenly something hit me and I asked the piercer about conch piercings. He was like, I think you should probably get your conch done instead. He told me that the pain and everything is similar to a helix piercing and the healing process isn't very much different, and in his experience, a conch piercing actually heals faster than a helix. And given that I have a rather soft cartilage, my piercings would be faster and easier to heal. I was actually so happy to hear that and was like fuck yeah, let's just do this??????

Prior to the piercing, he marked my conch and my helix just to let me see which one I'd prefer. He also showed me what it'd look like if I changed my conch stud into a ring later, and oh my god, it was exactly what I wanted. So I decided to just get what I want not overthink things. But kudos to him for being so patient because it actually took me so long to decide too lol. But it really helped that I had my friends (Jas & Kendy) with me so they could give me feedback on what it actually looks like.
enlarge the pic to see my conch???? (also sorry for the shameless selfies hahaha)
I was also pretty nervous and scared when it was time for me to get my piercing (because i think i have pretty low pain tolerance) but the piercer did it so quickly I barely felt anything at all. After two deep breaths it was done! It took me longer to decide than him doing my piercing actually. But I'm just really happy with the experience AND THE RESULT. Piercer was friendly and actually very helpful and I would 10/10 go there again for another piercing (if only it wasn't that pricey).

And omg I'm just so happy that I did not settle for a helix piercing because now, I have my conch pierced!!!! which yeah, is actually not a very big deal, but i'm just really happy with how it looks ! Even with a stud it looks really pretty!!!! Can't wait till I could change it to a ring though lol.

Change?
